India Medical Visa
Short Description
The India Medical Visa is for Bangladeshi passport holders travelling to India for recognized medical treatment. The treatment plan and supporting letters from the relevant medical providers should clearly explain the need for travel.
Processing Time
Official guidance states a minimum of 3 working days after receipt of a complete application; medical or special cases may take more or less time.
Visa Validity
Commonly issued according to the treatment plan, often for up to 3 months initially; the issued visa controls.
Maximum Stay
As endorsed on the visa and at entry; extensions or additional stay require approval from the appropriate Indian authority.

Required Documents
- Printed and signed online visa application
- Original passport valid for at least 6 months with sufficient blank pages
- Recent photograph meeting the Indian visa specification
- Copy of Bangladeshi National ID card or birth certificate, as applicable
- Appointment, invitation, or admission letter from a recognized hospital in India
- Medical reports, prescriptions, test results, and recommendation from the treating doctor or hospital
- Proof of funds for treatment, travel, and accommodation
- Previous passports and previous Indian visas, if applicable
- Relationship documents for a medical attendant, where applicable
- Any additional document requested by IVAC or the High Commission
Application Process
- Obtain the appointment or treatment letter from the hospital in India.
- Complete the official Indian online visa application.
- Print and sign the application and prepare the supporting medical documents.
- Submit the application at the relevant Indian Visa Application Centre or mission as instructed.
- Pay the applicable charges and retain the receipt.
- Track the application and collect the passport after a decision.
Important Notes
Visa approval, validity, number of entries, and length of stay are decided by the Indian authorities. Applicants needing an attendant should check whether a separate Medical Attendant Visa is required. Emergency cases should follow the current High Commission procedure.
